Madrone Trail
This 7.6-mile rocky trail is great for hiking or mountain biking. The trail is currently free to use, but signs at the park will advise of any changes. There is ample parking at the trailhead lot. If you work up a sweat on your hike or ride, cool off at Swim Beach #1 or relax in Canyon Park when you’re done.
Comal Park
Comal Park is a 116-acre day-use park on the shores of Canyon Lake. Located near the town of Startzville, Comal Park is a great way to enjoy the southwest end of the lake. Visitors come to picnic, play games, swim, boat, kayak, paddleboard, and lounge on the beach.
Canyon Park
The largest park on Canyon Lake, Canyon Park offers many ways to spend a beautiful day. There are three different trail loops within the park, plus picnic tables, grills, and unofficial swim areas. And the views don’t disappoint.
Overlook Park
Overlook Park is a public, day-use park with spectacular views of Canyon Lake’s south side. Trek through the park’s 1-mile loop hiking trail or meander the Verada Real walking trail, which will take you all the way across the dam.
